Responsibilities
- Leads statistical programming activities across an indication/disease area, ensuring quality and timeliness of deliverables and related oversight.
- Leads recruitment and retention strategies for Statistical Programming in collaboration with leadership, HR, and Talent Acquisition teams.
- Develops and implements indication/disease area-level strategies for Statistical Programming.
- Sets tasks and prioritizes work across the indication/disease area.
- Engages cross-functionally to progress tasks with proven influencing skills.
- Leads process improvement initiatives, identifying areas for enhancement.
- Maintains an influential internal and external presence on varied statistical programming topics.
- Provides comprehensive programming leadership and support to complex clinical project teams and vendors, including deployment of programming strategies, standards, and specifications to comply with regulatory requirements, SOPs, and work practices.
- Guides the development and implementation of innovative strategies and technologies for clinical trial programming at the program level.
- Serves as a member of the Extended Statistical Programming Leadership Team, contributing to the vision and growth of the function.
- Challenges the status quo, as appropriate, and executes process changes to drive efficiency in Statistical Programming.
- Manages employees by setting objectives, evaluating performance, and providing coaching and feedback.
- Supports the evaluation and recruitment of potential employees, collaborating with other Statistical Programming Therapeutic Heads on recruitment and retention efforts.
Requirements
- MS with ~10+ years of industry-related experience or BS with ~12+ years of industry-related experience.
- Proven track record of leading business process transformations, organizational culture change, and driving programming expertise on programs with complex deliverables.
- Demonstrated success in attracting and retaining talent.
- Operational experience in pharmaceutical drug development with significant exposure to clinical development.
- Healthcare business acumen with a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry.
- Proficient knowledge of the drug development process, clinical trial methodology, regulatory guidance, industry standards, statistical concepts, and medical terminology used in the analysis and submission of clinical data.

The starting compensation range(s) listed are for full-time employees (FTE). Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may be available based on eligibility. Final individual compensation will be determined by demonstrated experience.

Eligibility Disclosure: The summer hours program is for U.S. office-based employees due to the nature of their work. Summer hours may not be available for field sales, manufacturing operations, or capability centers. Employees in remote-by-design or lab-based roles may be eligible depending on their work. Employees covered under a collective bargaining agreement should consult that document for eligibility. Contractors, leased workers, and other service providers are not eligible.
Schedule
This role follows BMS’s occupancy structure, which determines where work is conducted based on job responsibilities:
- Site-essential roles: Require 100% of shifts onsite at the assigned facility.
- Site-by-design roles: May be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at the assigned facility. Onsite presence is critical for collaboration, innovation, productivity, and culture.
- Field-based and remote-by-design roles: Require physical travel to visit customers, patients, or business partners and attend meetings as directed.
