About the role

Develops and implements sourcing strategies for clinical and nonclinical materials and services. Provides strategic leadership and direction to the organization. Leads the strategic sourcing process that leverages scale, maximizes supplier relationships, minimizes risks and drives business value. Collaborates with key stakeholders and works cross-functionally in developing and executing sourcing strategies. Establishes strategic relationship with supply base and implement supplier management strategies. Staffs and develops a sourcing team that will drive sustained performance and improve procurement effectiveness. Drives a culture change of continuous improvement and organization excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Understand spend across the hospitals, analyze category markets and translate into actionable strategies and forward-looking analyses.
  • Able to build consensus throughout the organization.
  • Develops category expertise, maintains market intelligence and stays abreast of the changing supply base and new technologies.
  • Oversees the strategic sourcing process and guides sourcing team through spend management and development of sourcing strategies.
  • Directs efforts that lead to cost optimization, improved quality and service and enhanced innovation through strategic sourcing, supplier relationship and risk management.
  • Directs and develops a sourcing organization that will enable a positive change in procurement performance.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders upstream and downstream to ensure engagement, buy-in and ownership of key sourcing strategies.
  • Develops supplier management strategies that enhance innovation and quality, reduces costs and improves supply chain efficiencies.
  • Drive and deliver cost savings opportunities aligned with organization commitments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration
  • Masters Business Administration or Masters in Science or Healthcare related field (preferred)
  • 15+ years of supply chain experience with 8-10 years in Procurement experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing sourcing strategies that have yielded measurable business results
  • Knowledge and practical experience in the healthcare industry related to medical products and procedures
  • Training or practical experience in professional education/training and a proven track record of developing programs and collaborating with others to reach mutual outcomes
  • Certified Materials Resource Professional (CMRP) or other recognized certification. Equivalents accepted upon review.
