About the Role
As a Director of Engineering, you will lead teams architecting and building assistive and autonomous AI-native products to transform IT service and operations management. This role spans large-scale distributed systems, data ingestion, context creation, agentic harnesses, cost optimization, and feedback loops, requiring a blend of technical leadership, architectural judgment, and iterative experimentation.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow engineering teams for ITSM/ITOM products, addressing AI-native evolution and value realization.
- Own technical strategy, set architectural direction, and ensure quality and reliability.
- Hire, coach, and develop engineers, tech leads, and managers, fostering inclusive, high-performing teams.
- Drive evidence-based decision-making through experimentation and data-driven outcomes.
- Evolve current solutions toward AI-native capabilities, identifying opportunities for agentic patterns and autonomous workflows.
- Diagnose and address value realization gaps in existing agentic products.
- Establish architecture patterns, engineering standards, and operating rhythms for your domain.
- Collaborate across teams to share learnings and accelerate adoption of successful patterns.
- Work with stakeholders in Product, Design, Security, Operations, Sales, and Customer Success to align on roadmaps and priorities.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years leading and managing teams.
- Strong experience with large-scale distributed systems, enterprise platforms, or cloud-scale infrastructure.
- Deep understanding of system design for scale, reliability, observability, and security.
- Proficiency in Java, Python, or similar programming languages.
- Proven ability to define technical direction and translate product strategy into engineering plans.
- Demonstrated success in hiring, developing, and retaining engineering talent.
- Ability to lead through technical credibility and build alignment across organizations.
- Experience with AI-powered products, automation platforms, or agentic systems is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with enterprise service management, IT operations, or related domains is a plus.

Pay
We offer a base pay of $183,600 - $321,300, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation, and benefits. Compensation varies based on qualifications, skill level, and work location.
