Director & Senior Legal Counsel
for section headings: e.g., About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule.
We must only include sections with real specific content. Let's decide which sections have content.
About the role: we have description: "WD is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Director & Senior Legal Counsel to join its Global Commercial Legal team. In this high-impact role, you will serve as a trusted legal partner to WD's Worldwide Sales and Marketing Organization, providing sophisticated legal advice across a broad range of commercial transactions. You will play a central role in shaping go-to-market strategies, managing commercial risk, and supporting commercial operational excellence." That's substantive.
Responsibilities: we have Key Responsibilities bullet list.
Requirements: maybe we can combine required experience etc. The posting has "Qualifications" with required experience, license, subject matter knowledge, language. That could be Requirements. But we also have separate "Qualifications" heading in posting. The instruction says use headings as given: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. So we need to map content accordingly.
We could treat "Requirements" as the mandatory qualifications (required experience, license, subject matter knowledge, language). And "Qualifications" as preferred qualifications? But we have both required and preferred. The posting has "Qualifications" section with Required Experience, License, Subject Matter Knowledge, Language, then "Preferred Experience". Then "Competencies & Success Factors". So we could put required items under Requirements, and preferred plus competencies under Qualifications? Or we could put all under Qualifications and leave Requirements empty? But we must not emit heading with filler. So we need to decide which heading has real content.
We have content for both required and preferred. Could split: Requirements = required experience, license, subject matter knowledge, language. Qualifications = preferred experience, additional language proficiency, competencies & success factors? But competencies are more like skills. The instruction includes Skills heading separate. So maybe Skills = competencies & success factors. Qualifications = preferred experience (and maybe additional language). Requirements = required experience etc.
Let's map:
- About the role: role description paragraph.
- Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities bullet list.
- Requirements: Required Experience, License, Subject Matter Knowledge, Language (professional fluency in English). Possibly also note "8 or more years of relevant transactional legal experience..." etc.
- Qualifications: Preferred Experience (working in or with technology companies, additional language proficiency is a plus). Could also include "Additional language proficiency is a plus." That's it.
- Skills: Competencies & Success Factors list (Business Partnership, Transactional Excellence, Independent Judgment, Collaboration, Communication, Leadership & Mentorship, Detail & Rigor, Integrity, Adaptability, Growth Mindset). Those are skills/competencies.
- Benefits: from Compensation & Benefits Details: list of benefits (paid vacation time; paid sick leave; medical/dental/vision insurance; life, accident and disability insurance; tax-advantaged flexible spending and health savings accounts; employee assistance program; other voluntary benefit programs such as supplemental life and AD&D, legal plan, pet insurance, critical illness, accident and hospital indemnity; tuition reimbursement; transit; the Applause Program; employee stock purchase plan; and the WD Savings 401(k) Plan.)
- Pay: salary range info: "The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York." Also mention factors influencing pay. That's specific enough.
- Schedule: no specific schedule info; we should not create.
We must remove boilerplate: EEO, legal, accommodation request, application deadline, notice to candidates, etc. Also remove "Additional Information" EEO etc. Also remove "Based on our experience..." etc. Also remove "Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages..." maybe keep? It's about compensation but could be considered boilerplate? It's still about pay but maybe keep as part of Pay section? It's somewhat generic but still about pay. Might keep but it's not specific. Safer to keep only substantive: salary range description and benefits list. The note about pay not being wages until earned is generic; could be considered boilerplate. I'd omit.
Also remove "We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including ..." we keep that list.
Also remove "Please note that not all roles are eligible..." maybe keep as part of Benefits? It's about LTI eligibility; could be considered benefits detail. Might keep but it's somewhat generic. I'd keep the list of benefits and maybe mention LTI program eligibility as part of Benefits? The posting includes LTI program description. That's specific enough to keep.
Thus Benefits section could include: eligibility for STI Plan, SIP, LTI program (RSUs or cash equivalents), plus list of benefits.
Pay section: salary range description and factors.
