Director, Safety Physician

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Director, Safety Physician to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space. This role will provide medical leadership across pharmacovigilance activities, with a particular focus on oncology and other complex therapeutic areas. The Director will partner closely with safety, clinical, and cross-functional stakeholders to strengthen case review, signal detection, and safety governance. This position is well suited for a physician who brings deep safety expertise, strong medical judgment, and the ability to help shape high-quality safety processes and deliverables. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Implement medical reviews of individual case safety reports (ICSRs)
• Lead preparation and presentation of safety information to committees and other stakeholders
• Review safety data on a scheduled basis to support signal detection activities
• Develop and support medical coding conventions and process improvements
• Serve as product lead or therapeutic area lead as assigned

Qualifications

• MD/DO or international equivalent
• 8+ years of experience as a safety physician
• Clinical expertise in oncology, particularly immunotherapy and chemotherapy
• Strong knowledge of global pharmacovigilance and safety reporting
• Experience with safety data analysis and report writing
• Proficiency in technical safety systems and MedDRA coding

Pay

Compensation: $190,000 – $237,000 annually
