Primary Functions

  • Collaborates with the Legal and Risk Management Team to organize, compile, analyze, and document data to identify opportunities for risk management intervention and educational opportunities.
  • Acts as a risk management resource, internal consultant, and educator by providing direct consultation to associates in the Florida region.
  • Researches and provides education, consultation, and guidance on state, federal, and other regulatory agencies' standards as they relate to risk management.
  • Maintains knowledge of applicable existing and developing laws and regulations.
  • Participates, facilitates or leads teams, as appropriate, to achieve performance improvement within the organization.
  • Compiles, analyzes data, and provides routine risk data to the Nemours Legal/Risk Management Department and other departments in Florida as assigned, including but not limited to incident reports, medical records, logs, databases, and error reporting systems to support risk management activities.
  • Drafts and delivers reports and presentations outlining findings, identifying and explaining potential risks, and recommending solutions.
  • Collaborates with Legal/Risk Management Department on uniform risk assessment models and methodologies.
  • Participates in system-wide risk management initiatives as assigned.

Requirements

  • Post Graduate (e.g., Ph.D., M.D., J.D.), JD and/or clinical degree required
  • More than 3 years of experience
  • Experience in Healthcare Risk Management or a related field preferred
