Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of revenue accounting, including month-end close, analysis and reporting, controls considerations and technical accounting under ASC 606.
  • Oversee contract review for revenue recognition implications.
  • Lead and mentor a team of two revenue accountants, providing coaching and professional development.
  • Partner with Strategic Finance, Legal, Commercial, and Operations to support accurate forecasting, reporting, and compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes, systems, and controls to support scale and operational excellence.
  • Support external audits and reviews.
  • Assist the Accounting team as needed with ad hoc tasks and projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • CPA with strong technical knowledge of ASC 606.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in public accounting and industry, with at least 3+ years focused on revenue accounting.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, public company environment.
  • 3+ years in a leadership role managing teams and developing talent.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable processes and controls.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally.
  • Comfortable working in a fully remote setting.

Benefits

Virta has a location based compensation structure. Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. For this role, the compensation range is $175,088-$200,100.

As a remote-first company, our team is spread across various locations with office hubs in Denver and San Francisco.

Pay

Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. For this role, the compensation range is $175,088-$200,100.
