Director Respiratory Therapy
Job Summary
The Director of Respiratory Therapy is responsible for the clinical and non-clinical management of the Respiratory Care Services departments, including the Respiratory Care department and Pulmonary Function Lab. This role involves directing operations in accordance with hospital policies and objectives, under the administrative direction of the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Qualifications
- Plans, organizes, directs, controls, and evaluates all departmental resources to ensure high-quality patient care and measurable returns to the organization, community, and physicians.
- Oversees program development, staff supervision, budget management, organizational improvement, and regulatory compliance.
- Maintains relationships with physicians, referral sources, and employees.
- Supports the mission and goals of the hospital and parent company.
- Develops and maintains clinical standards of practice for all disciplines.
- Supports and participates in marketing efforts and community service organizations.
- Maintains up-to-date professional knowledge.
- Interprets the philosophy/objectives of Respiratory Care Services to staff, clients, families, and the community.
- Is accessible to staff 24 hours per day, unless otherwise designated.
- Achieves and maintains harmonious relationships with managers, medical staff, other employees, and the public.
- Provides for professional growth/development of staff and provides incentives for advancement within the organization.
- Interprets public policy, economic developments, and public opinion in meeting organizational goals.
- Maintains responsibility for medical staff relations.
- Completes annual competencies within the appropriate timeframe.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree - Required
- 5+ years experience in Respiratory Therapy - Preferred
- State of NH Respiratory Care Practitioner License - Required
