Role Overview

We are seeking a Director, Research Program Management with deep expertise in project management, research administration and specimen-based project execution. The ideal candidate will have experience designing and managing complex specimen-based research projects, working within academic medical centers and executing large scale research projects from design through completion. In this role, you will work across all teams at the company to track and manage all projects from design through execution. You will lend your expertise to assist with study design creation and drafting of regulatory documentation. This position is ideal for someone who has deep knowledge of specimen-based research administration and an ability to execute projects successfully.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Gathers and track detailed milestones across all research projects within the company
  • Works with stakeholders inside and outside the company to ensure project success. Ensures appropriate progress is being made against defined strategies; proactively flags concerns and potential timeline risks to leadership and provides recommendations for resolution.
  • Assists with obtaining quotes for project plans and tracking execution of spend across projects

Research Administration

  • Assists in design and drafting of research service agreements.
  • Drafts and executes IRB submissions when necessary.
  • Assists with project budget creation, review and tracking. Works with Finance to support tracking of budgets.
  • Ensures compliance and adherence to relevant regulations and ethical guidelines throughout the research process, including data privacy and patient safety.

Business Development

  • Support business development team with due diligence of new biobanks and assets under consideration, reviewing protocols and consents and providing summaries.
  • Support creation of research protocols and plans for projects under consideration with target institutions

Required Qualifications

  • MS or higher in a basic science.
  • 10 or more years of experience working in an operations role in specimen-based research including extensive experience working with biobanks and Principal Investigators at academic medical centers.
  • Demonstrated ability to write and execute IRB protocols for specimen-based research.
  • Ability to assist with drafting and reviewing project budgets in relation to research project design.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across departments to gather project requirements and create clear milestones.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and adjust plans and strategies as situations evolve. Previous experience working within a dynamic fast paced environment at a health system.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.
