About the role
The Director, Regulatory & State Agency Affairs will lead the development and implementation of regulatory strategies and relationships with state agencies to support Efficiency Vermont's mission.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with state regulatory bodies and agencies to ensure compliance and favorable policy outcomes.
- Advocate for Efficiency Vermont's position on regulatory issues before state agencies and legislative bodies.
- Monitor and analyze regulatory trends and developments that impact Efficiency Vermont's operations and initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement regulatory strategies that align with Efficiency Vermont's goals.
- Prepare and present regulatory-related materials to stakeholders, including reports, briefings, and presentations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as public policy, environmental science, or business administration.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in regulatory affairs or related field.
- Proven track record of successfully navigating complex regulatory environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels within and outside the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Qualifications
- Experience working with state-level regulatory agencies.
- Knowledge of relevant state and federal regulations impacting energy efficiency programs.
- Experience in developing and implementing regulatory strategies.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and advocacy.
Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Schedule
This role is currently offered on a hybrid schedule, with a mix of remote and in-office work.
