About the role

The Director, Regulatory & State Agency Affairs will lead the development and implementation of regulatory strategies and relationships with state agencies to support Efficiency Vermont's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with state regulatory bodies and agencies to ensure compliance and favorable policy outcomes.
  • Advocate for Efficiency Vermont's position on regulatory issues before state agencies and legislative bodies.
  • Monitor and analyze regulatory trends and developments that impact Efficiency Vermont's operations and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement regulatory strategies that align with Efficiency Vermont's goals.
  • Prepare and present regulatory-related materials to stakeholders, including reports, briefings, and presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as public policy, environmental science, or business administration.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in regulatory affairs or related field.
  • Proven track record of successfully navigating complex regulatory environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with state-level regulatory agencies.
  • Knowledge of relevant state and federal regulations impacting energy efficiency programs.
  • Experience in developing and implementing regulatory strategies.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and advocacy.

Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

This role is currently offered on a hybrid schedule, with a mix of remote and in-office work.
