Director, Regulatory Compliance
About the role
The Director, Regulatory Compliance role is a highly visible position within Premera, a company dedicated to improving healthcare through meaningful work and innovation. Reporting to senior leadership, this role will shape Premera's compliance strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory landscapes.
Responsibilities
Set strategy and lead enterprise compliance
Design, develop, and implement an enterprise-wide compliance program
Provide strategic direction and insight to advance a modern compliance program
Oversee regulatory relationship building
Promote a culture of integrity while keeping Premera compliant
Maintain deep knowledge of laws, regulations, and industry compliance risks
Advise executives and manage complex, sensitive matters
Collaborate with senior leaders and officers to embed values and compliance
Develop practical solutions to reduce exposure to fines, penalties, litigation, and reputational harm
Partner with Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Human Resources, and others on sensitive reviews and investigations
Oversee regulatory inquiries and investigations
Serve as a primary contact for state and federal regulators
Track investigations and corrective actions
Lead and develop a high-performing team
Coach and grow a team of compliance professionals
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or four years of equivalent work experience
- Eight years of management experience or eight years in a related legal, regulatory, or compliance monitoring field
- Experience in a highly regulated industry (e.g., healthcare, finance, government)
- Demonstrated ability to influence and build relationships at all levels
- Experience working in a government regulatory agency, particularly in an agency that regulates healthcare and/or health insurance
- Juris Doctor (JD)

Pay
The salary range for this role is $157,900.00 - $315,900.00, with the actual salary varying based on a range of factors including geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.
