What Makes Us a Great Place To Work

We are proud to be consistently recognized as one of the world’s best places to work. We are currently the top ranked consulting firm on Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work list and have earned the #1 overall spot a record seven times. Extraordinary teams are at the heart of our business strategy, but these don’t happen by chance. They require intentional focus on bringing together a broad set of backgrounds, cultures, experiences, perspectives, and skills in a supportive and inclusive work environment. We hire people with exceptional talent and create an environment in which every individual can thrive professionally and personally.

Who You’ll Work With

At the heart of Bain’s Digital Workplace Experience team is the ambition to transform how we work. DWX brings together product and engineering teams to create an AI-powered workplace that is connected, intuitive, secure, and differentiated. The team owns capabilities spanning AI assistants, knowledge discovery, content creation, data and analytics, collaboration, and the foundations that enable new ways of working.

You will sit within this ecosystem and help lead Sage & AI Delivery—a priority agenda to reinvent case delivery through generative AI. You will work directly with consulting leaders, case teams, Practices, Knowledge, Risk, Legal, Security, Data, engineering partners, and change leaders to convert Bain’s most important workflow opportunities into products and scalable ways of working.

Where You’ll Fit Within the Team

Bain’s Digital Workplace Experience (DWX) team is looking for a product and transformation leader to shape how Bain teams use AI to deliver exceptional client work. This Director will own a portfolio of technology products—including Sage and related knowledge and workflow capabilities—that help Bain teams structure their work, find and synthesize the best of Bain, and produce higher-quality answers faster. The role will lead pilots, translate learning into product direction, and reimagine case-delivery workflows at firm scale. This role is designed for a leader who combines deep empathy for consulting teams with strong product judgment, cross-functional leadership, and a bias toward learning through delivery. The Director will partner closely with engineering and applied-AI teams but will not be expected to serve as the primary hands-on builder of agents. A separate Agentic Delivery product-engineering role will own the more deeply technical work of rapidly prototyping, building, and productionizing agentic solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Product strategy and portfolio ownership
    • Own the vision, strategy, roadmap, and outcomes for Sage and a portfolio of AI-enabled knowledge and case-delivery products.
    • Identify the highest-value problems to solve by deeply understanding how case teams and functional professionals structure work, collaborate, find knowledge, develop insights, and communicate answers.
    • Make clear product and investment choices across competing opportunities, balancing user value, firm priorities, technical feasibility, risk, and speed to impact.
    • Create strong alignment with senior consulting and functional leaders around the portfolio’s ambition, sequencing, measures of success, and required behavior change.
  • Pilots and delivery-workflow reinvention
    • Lead end-to-end pilots that test new AI-enabled delivery workflows in live Bain settings, from opportunity framing and participant selection through learning agendas, measurement, and scale decisions.
    • Work alongside case teams and Practices to redesign workflows—not simply automate existing steps—and define how people, AI assistants, reusable agents, knowledge, and expert judgment should work together.
    • Turn pilot learning into repeatable product requirements, playbooks, operating models, and firm-wide recommendations.
    • Build a disciplined test-and-learn portfolio: scale what works, adapt what shows promise, and stop work quickly when evidence does not support further investment.
  • Product delivery, adoption, and measurable impact
    • Lead cross-functional product teams and dedicated engineering partners through clear priorities, user stories, acceptance criteria, decisions, and release plans.
    • Drive adoption and sustained behavior change through compelling communications, leadership engagement, training, use-case playbooks, and embedded support.
    • Define and track outcome measures such as activation, repeat use, user advocacy, cycle-time improvement, quality, and workflow-level productivity gains.
    • Partner with Risk, Legal, Security, Data, and engineering teams to ensure that products meet Bain’s standards for responsible AI, privacy, reliability, and client confidentiality.
  • Domain leadership and ecosystem partnership
    • Stay close to advances in AI assistants, knowledge systems, enterprise search, agentic workflows, and consulting-delivery innovation; translate market developments into pragmatic choices for Bain.
    • Partner with the Agentic Delivery product-engineering team to connect reusable technical capabilities with Bain’s highest-value products and workflows.
    • Represent the voice of Bain users and the delivery-transformation agenda in product, technology, and senior-leadership forums.

Qualifications

  • You understand consulting work. You have meaningful experience with Bain or a comparable professional-services environment and can quickly earn the trust of case teams and senior consulting leaders.
  • You are an outstanding product thinker. You frame ambiguous problems, uncover unmet needs, make disciplined trade-offs, and remain accountable for outcomes—not just activity or feature delivery.
  • You are energized by reinventing delivery. You can see beyond today’s process and help teams imagine a materially better way to work with AI.
  • You are a strong pilot and transformation leader. You design experiments that create evidence, manage complex stakeholder environments, and turn early learning into scalable change.
  • You lead across boundaries. You can align consulting, product, engineering, risk, knowledge, and functional teams without relying on formal authority.
  • You communicate with clarity and conviction. You translate complex technology and workflow choices into simple narratives for senior audiences.
  • You have strong AI and technical fluency, but deep hands-on agent engineering is not required. You can engage engineering partners credibly, ask the right questions, and make sound product trade-offs.
  • You are low-ego, resilient, and action-oriented. You create momentum, welcome contrary evidence, and keep teams focused on Bain’s best outcome.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Typically 10+ years of relevant experience across consulting, product management, digital transformation, innovation, or technology-enabled change.
  • Demonstrated ownership of complex, cross-functional initiatives from problem definition through delivery, adoption, and measurable impact.
  • Experience leading pilots, new-product development, workflow redesign, or scaled organizational change in an ambiguous environment.
  • Formal product-management experience is valuable but not required where a candidate can demonstrate exceptional product judgment, user orientation, and end-to-end ownership.
  • Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • The role may require occasional travel for working sessions, pilots, and team events.

Schedule

This role follows a hybrid model, requiring in-office presence at least one day per week.

Pay

Compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, 401(k) plan with an annual employer contribution based on years of service.

Benefits

  • Bain pays 100% individual employee premiums for medical, dental, and vision programs.
  • Generous paid time off, including parental leave, sick leave, and paid holidays.
  • Fully vested 401(k) company contribution (4.5% starting, increasing after 3 years).
  • Paid Life and Long-Term Disability insurance.
