About the role

This is a newly created strategic leadership opportunity focused on leading the end-to-end product development lifecycle across a global portfolio. The Director, Product Development, will play a pivotal role in improving time-to-market, strengthening product quality, and ensuring regulatory compliance while aligning execution with evolving business priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the multi-year product roadmap and New Product Introduction (NPI) lifecycle from concept through launch and sustainment.
  • Oversee product verification, validation, and regulatory compliance, including testing, certifications, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Manage sustaining engineering activities including product changes (PCNs/ECOs) to optimize cost, product performance, and product lifecycle management.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Sourcing, QA, and Executive Leadership to deliver on roadmap commitments.
  • Manage and develop teams across product development and product verification, including resource planning and budget management.
  • Provide top level customer support and ensure timely resolution of critical issues.
  • Establish scalable processes to improve time-to-market, product quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Drive data-informed decision-making, leveraging analytics and AI tools to identify opportunities and solve complex product challenges.
  • Engage periodically with end customers to understand pain points and translate insights into product improvements.
  • Establish and track KPIs related to NPI execution, product success, quality, and lifecycle performance.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in product development and/or engineering environment.
  • Strong expertise in end-to-end product development lifecycle management within IT hardware, electronics or hardware/firmware environments.
  • Proven experience with regulatory compliance, product testing, and quality standards.
  • Strong data analytics capabilities and experience leveraging AI tools for decision-making.
  • Deep understanding of IT hardware, electronics manufacturing, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence at the executive level.
  • Experience managing complex global supply chains and vendor relationships.
  • Strong track record of improving time-to-market, product quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Exposure to global regulatory frameworks and compliance environments.
  • Business acumen including business case development and commercial decision-making.
