Director, Privacy (Remote)

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Director Privacy (remote) to join the team of a leader in the Education, Government & Non-Profit space. This role will provide business-aligned guidance focused on governance, compliance, and operational risk management. You will partner with leaders, compliance stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate complex issues into practical recommendations. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen responsible execution, improve decision-making, and support sustainable growth within a mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the enterprise privacy program roadmap and strategy
• Implement governance processes for privacy-by-design across the organization
• Continuously enhance the privacy program in line with business objectives
• Grow a coordinated, risk-based privacy initiative with Legal Operations
• Mentor business teams on practical privacy applications and regulations
• Collaborate with various teams to align technical controls with privacy governance
• Communicate privacy risks and regulations in accessible language across departments

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 10+ years in privacy, compliance, governance, or related fields
• In-depth understanding of GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other privacy laws; familiarity with FERPA
• Experience in developing and managing privacy programs
• Strong leadership and communication abilities
• Ability to translate regulatory needs into actionable business processes

Compensation: $138,200 – $179,650 annually
