Director, Primary Care Service Line

About the role

The Service Line Director (SLD) is responsible for maintaining clinical and operational responsibility for the service line under the general supervision of the Executive Director, Ambulatory Clinics. The SLD coordinates operations with other divisions to achieve the strategic priorities set forth in Destination 2020.

Responsibilities

• Maintains clinical and operational responsibility for the service line.
• Collaborates with the Director, Service Line Marketing and Medical Directors to coordinate operations.
• Develops, implements, and leads the Service Line’s operations, including planning, program development, and quality improvement programs.
• Directs patient care efforts through clinical and administrative staff.
• Develops and implements plans for department staffing, program development, and operational goals.
• Directs and monitors service line operations, ensuring sound fiscal management.
• Identifies, executes, and maintains opportunities to transform and integrate business unit/corporate structures and cultures.
• Works in dyad partnership with the Division Chief(s) on vision and goals for each individual division.
• Maintains knowledge of current trends and advancements within the assigned service line to ensure cutting-edge practices.
• Creates, maintains, and reports on action plans for any variance to expected metrics.
• Mentors and develops direct reports to foster a culture of engagement resulting in outstanding programs and services.
• Maintains compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards, ensuring the highest level of quality and safety.
• Collaborates with other system service line leadership and peer operational colleagues to develop, implement, and sustain clinical programs and services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as healthcare administration, business administration, nursing, or a related discipline.
• If the candidate is an RN, a Master's degree is required.
• 5 years of healthcare leadership experience.
• A Master's degree is preferred.
