About the role
The Director, Practice Operations is responsible for the operational and financial performance of Bronson's medical practices. This role oversees multiple medical practices and potentially inpatient provider services, working closely with the Directors of Clinical Practice and the Vice President of Operations.
Responsibilities
- Implement strategic initiatives to achieve the organization's goal of a fully integrated delivery system.
- Directly supervise Practice Managers and oversee day-to-day operations in their areas of responsibility.
- Develop and administer budgets, review reports, and approve expenditures for professional services.
- Develop and approve policies to ensure the achievement of agreed-upon goals for areas of responsibility.
- Hire, develop, and discipline subordinates, delegating such matters to supervisory and managerial employees as appropriate.
- Evaluate and mentor practice leaders, providing analysis and recommendations related to practice work volume, efficiency standards, quality of services provided, and other management concerns.
- Collaborate with Practice Managers to solve operational problems and improve services to the practice/service.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and maintain patient safety and ethical standards.
- Support the practice managers in panel meetings and co-chair clinical practice council meetings with the Director of Clinical Practice.
- Coordinate the promotion/marketing of departmental services to relevant customers.
- Remain informed about healthcare developments and advancements, integrating them when practical and cost-effective.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations, including audits and accreditation processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Business, or Health-related field.
- 3-5 years of practice management experience.
- Ability to assert authority and lead projects successfully.
- Strong positive leadership and communication/presentation skills.
- Basic word processing and spreadsheet skills.
- Demonstrated high-level of planning and organization skills.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills, with a well-developed sense of timing and strategy.
- Able to manage complex situations with high levels of risk.
- Ability to analyze financial data and oversee operational budgets.
- Able to manage and integrate diverse goals and objectives into detailed operation plans.
- Able to handle high levels of mental/visual fatigue and interact with a personal computer for extended periods.
- Physical demands include regular walking, standing, stooping, bending, sitting, and lifting light weight objects.
