About the role
The Director, Portfolio Program Management (PPM) will partner with the Asset Strategy Leader, asset strategy planner, and deliverable team project managers and co-chairs to develop asset strategy, align execution plans, and drive implementation across the product portfolio. This includes the development and launch of novel pharmaceutical products, new clinical indications, and global expansion of existing products within Aesthetics Medicine. As the operational leader of the asset and asset team, the Director will lead complex, high-impact programs requiring strong leadership, advanced project management expertise, and a strategic enterprise mindset. This role requires the ability to bring clarity to complex situations, communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels, influence decisions across the organization, and foster accountability for commitments and outcomes. The Director will also contribute to and lead departmental initiatives, mentor team members, and work independently with minimal oversight. The role may include oversight of Aesthetics Therapeutic Area Council meetings, either as a primary responsibility or in support of the meeting manager.
Responsibilities
- Strategic partner with the Deliverable Team Chair, Portfolio Program Manager (PPM), and Portfolio Program Planner to develop the deliverables team global strategy and drive execution across products and indications for the asset.
- Project manage the development of the deliverable team strategy across indications and ensure aligned execution plans.
- Develop, monitor, and control cross-functional project plans, timelines, budgets, and milestones, ensuring alignment with the asset project management team (PMT).
- Serve as a member of the Asset Program Management Team (PMT) and support the Asset Leadership team in gaining approval from governance at each stage gate.
- Evaluate, monitor, and control project risks.
- Support cross-functional teams to execute projects on time, per agreed milestones/timelines, and within budget.
- Accountable for the deliverable team timeline and project timeline in partnership with the Project Planner.
- Proactively ensure team members meet commitments as planned and work to appropriate standards.
- Drive cross-functional project team and deliverable team effectiveness.
- Manage cross-functional project team operational activities to ensure milestones and goals are met.
- Schedule cross-functional project team and other relevant meetings, manage agendas, and capture meeting minutes including action items and decisions.
- Proactively follow up on action items.
- Ensure management decisions are communicated to the Deliverables Team and cross-functional project team in a timely manner.
- Monitor and record progress of project activities, milestones, and forecasts, and periodically report status to management.
- Maintain open communication between Asset Strategy Team, Deliverables Team, and sub-team members.
- Actively respond to project risks, mitigate, prevent, and resolve potential risks or issues.
- Identify issues requiring resolution with management or governance.
- Define key decision points and go/no-go criteria with teams.
- Provide decision analysis expertise and tools to project teams for strategic planning and operational execution, ensuring timely and well-informed decision-making.
- Support the Asset Strategy Team and Deliverables Team in management meetings to ratify decisions.
- Train and coach team members on project team processes, including governance, roles/responsibilities, planning processes, project goals, milestones, and project management tools (e.g., Global Development Strategy, Gantt charts, decision trees, project costing, and forecasting).
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field.
- 8-12 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial, or Pharmaceutical Development, including active participation in multidisciplinary product development teams.
- 5+ years of direct experience in Project Management for drug/device product development projects or equivalent.
- Advanced knowledge of global drug development, product registration, and launch processes.
- PMP certification is helpful but not required.

Pay
The compensation range for this role is based on the job grade and may vary depending on geographic location. Individual compensation will be determined by factors such as qualifications and experience. This range may be modified in the future.
