Position Summary

The Director, Portfolio Management will lead P&L performance, strategy development, cross-functional team leadership, product life-cycle management, demand generation, new product introduction, and positioning products to solve critical customer packaging problems. The role requires a proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and margin targets while growing market share.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate commercial deals by balancing margin, volume, customer commitment & other terms
  • Maximize ASP by arming commercial teams with competitive price guidance & strong value propositions
  • Lead cost optimization initiatives and reinvestment tied to ROI
  • Advocate & shepherd business cases for investments to grow and improve cost position within individual portfolios
  • Conduct market/competitive research to inform priorities
  • Create winning strategies that exploit gaps and underserved areas and leverage Sealed Air advantages within the market and competitive spaces
  • Identify capability / expertise gaps & advocate for closing them
  • Define innovation roadmap for individual portfolio
  • Define defined, measured growth priorities tied to AOP for individual portfolios
  • Drive advanced financial modeling to optimize resource allocation
  • Market, Strategy & Roadmap
  • Conduct market/competitive research to inform priorities
  • Create winning strategies that exploit gaps and underserved areas and leverage Sealed Air advantages within the market and competitive spaces
  • Identify capability / expertise gaps & advocate for closing them
  • Define innovation roadmap for individual portfolio
  • Define defined, measured growth priorities tied to AOP for individual portfolios
  • Define end-to-end product lifecycle position for each product and develop unique strategies to maximize growth and minimize obsolescence
  • Customer Insights & Go to Market Activation
  • Deep understanding of customer value drivers, unmet needs & connection to product CTQs through voice of customer research for individual portfolio
  • Author compelling value propositions for individual portfolio
  • Identify & advocate for enhancements
  • Lead new product launch & promotional campaigns for individual portfolios inclusive of collateral, training & customer events
  • Partner with sales on customer/market development to drive strategic initiatives
  • Stakeholder Management & Governance
  • Harness cross-functional expertise to inform & execute strategy
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership and external partners
  • Align, advise, & advocate strategic priorities and results across functions for portfolio group and individual portfolio
  • Facilitate internal decision making & problem solving to align with strategic interests and maximize value creation
  • Cultivate key customer and partner relationships to strengthen insights and capture new value in the marketplace
  • Identify & enhance processes/framework to create efficiencies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance or engineering; MBA strongly preferred
  • 10+ years in B2B product management of packaging, industrial and/or technical products within the distribution channel
  • Demonstrated track record managing integrated product portfolios including hardware, consumables, and service offerings

Other Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 40% for customer visits, trade shows, and partner workshops
  • Proficiency with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools, CRM systems, and data analytics platforms
