About the role
Join our Research Medical Center/Belton Medical Center team as Director of Plant Operations Facilities, where you will manage and maintain buildings, grounds, utilities, and non-clinical equipment across the Research Medical Center, Research Medical Center Brookside, Research Psychiatric, and Belton Regional Medical Center campuses. Reporting to the COO/Associate Administrator, you will facilitate construction projects, oversee contract providers for clinical equipment management, and provide leadership for all Plant Operations.

Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, direct, and provide leadership for all Plant Operations.
- Manage and maintain buildings, grounds, utilities, and non-clinical equipment.
- Facilitate initiation and completion of construction projects.
- Oversee contract providers of clinical equipment management.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, conduct life safety and environmental care plans, and lead the hospital in Joint Commission surveys in these areas.
Requirements
- Minimum of ten years (10) experience in plant operations and construction.
- Experience in healthcare safety and security preferred.
- Experience with regulatory compliance, life safety, and environmental care plans.
- Union experience preferred.
- Minimum of seven (7) years in administrative positions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in BSME, BSEE, Business, Security Management, Industrial Safety, Administration of Justice, or related field. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an associate degree in a related field with ten years of plant operations management experience and healthcare safety experience is acceptable.
- Current driver’s license; Class “A” Operating Engineers license preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Capacity to manage multiple agendas on an ongoing basis.

Research Medical Center is a 585+ bed hospital offering an array of services, including women’s services (obstetrics and fertility), emergency care, a trauma center, a Stroke Center, a walk-in clinic, and orthopedics across three Kansas City locations.
