Director-Pipeline Integrity Project Management

About the role

Kinder Morgan is one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America, owning an interest in or operating approximately 84,000 miles of pipelines and 157 terminals. This position is responsible for leading the Pipeline Integrity Project Management team, a team of 18 employees and contractors focused on managing projects in support of pipeline integrity objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead professional and administrative personnel
• Develop and improve personnel, processes, standards, and procedures
• Help develop and guide 3 subordinate managers and assist with their growth and career development
• Manage the performance of Project Managers and their team members, and direct and control the execution of Expense and Sustaining projects
• Ensure Kinder Morgan safety culture is maintained and incorporated into projects, contractors, and project teams
• Work directly with other Pipeline Integrity leaders to ensure that projects meet the integrity goals of Kinder Morgan
• Promote open and continuous communication between various customers, departments, and personnel
• Hold team members accountable for their performance in support of projects
• Lead special projects to streamline and simplify company processes and procedures
• Supervise the monthly forecasting efforts of the PMs
• Meet with stakeholders to achieve, manage, and maintain business goals
• Participate in the annual project selection and budgeting process
• Review in detail and approve all estimates generated by the team

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required, with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering strongly preferred
• At least 8 years of experience in Project Management and/or Engineering in the Oil and Gas Industry
• Proven experience in management of multiple professional and administrative personnel
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project software
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Office working environment with occasional (up to 10%) travel to project sites and to other offices across the United States.

Qualifications

PMP certification, experience in Project Management relating to pipeline industry, and familiarity with the goals and concepts of pipeline integrity are advantageous but not required.
