About the role

The Director, People (Assignment: People Technology Transformation) is a strategic and execution-focused leader with enterprise accountability for the full people technology portfolio. Reporting to the Senior Director, People Operations, the Director, People ensures that technology solutions are scalable, compliant and centered on excellent team member experiences. This role’s initial priority is leading the Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) implementation beginning with phase 1 go-live in 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the executive business lead for our Workday HCM transformation, partnering across People and IT teams, implementation partners, and business leaders to successfully deliver one of the organization's most significant strategic initiatives while establishing the governance, operating model, and continuous improvement framework for the future of People technology
  • Leads the start-to-finish Workday HCM implementation program, including core HCM, payroll, benefits and Cloud Connect, time tracking, absence management, talent optimization and performance management, learning management system (LMS), Peakon, and recruiting, including Paradox
  • Partner with Workday, the implementation partner, People team resources, IT resources, change management support, and key business stakeholders to design, configure, test, and launch Workday successfully, as well as define requirements, resolve issues, make decisions, and maintain momentum across workstreams
  • Oversee testing strategy and execution, ensuring comprehensive unit, integration, parallel, and user acceptance testing with strong defect management and readiness criteria
  • Lead organizational readiness and adoption efforts in partnership with change management resources, including communication, stakeholder engagement, training coordination, and post-go-live stabilization planning
  • Lead the post-implementation operating model for people technology implementations, including ongoing system operations, governance, enhancement prioritization, issue resolution, release management, and continuous improvement to sustain a stable and scalable platform

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, information systems, business, organizational development, or related field required; equivalent work experience may be substituted; advanced degree preferred
  • Progressive leadership experience in people technology, HRIS, transformation, or enterprise systems implementation roles, including direct ownership of complex, cross functional programs
  • Demonstrated experience leading or playing a significant leadership role in a Workday implementation, with strong knowledge of Workday HCM and related modules such as payroll, benefits, time tracking, absence, recruiting, talent and performance, learning, and engagement tools
  • Experience in the healthcare industry is strongly preferred, with appreciation for compliance, workforce complexity, and operational realities in a regulated care environment
  • Demonstrated experience improving foundational data quality, organizational structures, governance, and reporting
  • Proven ability to lead matrixed teams and manage internal resources
  • Periodic travel (e.g., once a quarter) is expected for observation/learning and team meetings

Pay

$159,939.07—$211,119.57 USD

Schedule

Periodic travel (e.g., once a quarter) is expected for observation/learning and team meetings
