Director, People Systems

The Director, People Systems will own the strategy, architecture, and ongoing evolution of ClickHouse’s global people systems ecosystem, with Workday at its core. This role will serve as the senior subject matter expert and strategic partner for People systems, ensuring our technology, data, and processes scale with the organization. This is a highly hands-on leadership role with significant ownership and autonomy. While the role will not initially have direct reports, the Director will lead cross-functional initiatives, manage external partners, establish systems governance, and influence People technology decisions across the organization. What You Will Do Own the global People Systems strategy and roadmap, with Workday serving as the core HR platformLead the design, configuration, optimization, and ongoing evolution of Workday across modules including Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Absence, and Time TrackingEstablish systems architecture, governance, security, data integrity, and change management standards across the People technology ecosystemPartner with People, Finance, IT, Security, and business leaders to translate organizational needs into scalable technology solutionsLead Workday releases, enhancements, integrations, testing, and adoption of new functionalityOwn the strategy and governance for integrations between Workday and other internal and external systemsDrive the evolution of People data, reporting, and analytics capabilities to support business and workforce decision-makingEvaluate the People technology landscape and recommend investments, enhancements, and consolidation opportunitiesIdentify and implement opportunities for automation and AI to improve People processes, data quality, and employee experienceManage external vendors, consultants, and implementation partners and ensure effective delivery against business prioritiesEstablish scalable processes and documentation that support a growing global organizationServe as the senior escalation point and subject matter expert for complex People Systems issues What You Bring Along 10+ years of experience in HRIS / People Systems, with significant ownership of Workday in a complex or global organizationDeep Workday expertise and experience leading or playing a significant leadership role in at least one full-cycle Workday implementationStrong understanding of Workday architecture, configuration, integrations, security, reporting, and data governanceExperience developing and executing a People Systems strategy and roadmapExperience scaling People technology within a high-growth, global organizationStrong understanding of HR processes and the intersection between People, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, and IT systemsDemonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders without direct authorityStrong vendor and implementation-partner management experienceAbility to operate both strategically and hands-on, particularly while building out the People Systems function Bonus Points For Workday certificationsExperience across multiple Workday modulesExperience with additional People systems such as Ashby, Culture Amp, Enboarder, or similar platformsExperience building reporting and People analytics capabilitiesExperience applying AI and automation to People systems and operational workflows Perks Flexible work environment - ClickHouse is a globally distributed company and remote-friendly.
