Director Payroll

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains effective internal controls and procedures for payroll operations.
• Coordinates and liaises with Shared Services leadership, facility leadership, Human Resources, and Corporate Payroll.
• Prepares and monitors the annual budget for payroll operations, analyzing variances to adhere to financial objectives.
• Participates in internal and external audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Identifies and implements system modifications and process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency.
• Coaches, counsels, and develops payroll staff to ensure effective team performance.
• Achieves superior customer satisfaction by working directly with internal and external customers.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in payroll management and attending educational workshops.
• Available outside of normal business hours for occasional support needs.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies in all payroll activities.
• Provides leadership and support to payroll team members, including guidance, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
• Manages and leads payroll staff activities to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting or Finance [Required]
• Master's degree [Preferred]
• 7+ years of managerial experience [Required]
• 9+ years of payroll experience [Required]
• Experience in a shared service or healthcare organization [Preferred]
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office [Required]
• Certified Pricing Professional (CCP-PPS) [Preferred]
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) [Preferred]
