Responsibilities
- Establishes and maintains effective internal controls and procedures for payroll operations.
- Coordinates and liaises with Shared Services leadership, facility leadership, Human Resources, and Corporate Payroll.
- Prepares and monitors the annual budget for payroll operations, analyzing variances to adhere to financial objectives.
- Participates in internal and external audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Identifies and implements system modifications and process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency.
- Coaches, counsels, and develops payroll staff to ensure effective team performance.
- Achieves superior customer satisfaction by working directly with internal and external customers.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in payroll management and attending educational workshops.
- Available outside of normal business hours for occasional support needs.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies in all payroll activities.
- Provides leadership and support to payroll team members, including guidance, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
- Manages and leads payroll staff activities to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting or Finance [Required]
- Master's degree [Preferred]
- 7+ years of managerial experience [Required]
- 9+ years of payroll experience [Required]
- Experience in a shared service or healthcare organization [Preferred]
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office [Required]
- Certified Pricing Professional (CCP-PPS) [Preferred]
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) [Preferred]
