Responsibilities
- Directs patient access operations
- Develops short- and long-term goals for the department
- Makes sure team performance metrics are reported
- Ensures successful management of daily team operations
- Conducts regular team and departmental meetings
- Institutes changes in techniques and processes as necessary
- Develops staff appraisals
- Counsels staff and handles disciplinary action
- Interviews potential candidates for departmental vacancies
- Aids in the development of department budgets
- Analyzes costs and develops programs to comply with budgetary constraints
- Collaborates with other managers, senior administrators, and third parties/vendors
- Works with all departments to ensure accuracy and compliance of admissions process
- Promotes and establishes an atmosphere of continuous improvement
- Communicates staff performance standards
- Provides leadership in problem identification and resolution
- Coordinates resolution between departments as needed
- Ensures understanding of Compliance and appropriate procedures for reporting compliance issues
- Maintains requirements for Joint Commission
- Communicates compliance issues to leadership and other personnel
- Serves on committees as appropriate
- Remains current on leading industry practices
- Updates fellow managers and/or staff of findings
Qualifications
- 4 years of experience with patient access management
- Extensive customer service and supervisor/team lead roles
- Bachelor's degree in related field
