About the role
The Director, Pathways plays a critical role in supporting high school students' transition into career and transfer pathways by developing and managing instructional support structures, credit-bearing opportunities, and workforce-aligned programs. The director ensures seamless integration of high school coursework, dual enrollment, prior learning assessments, and workforce credentials within CCBC’s guided pathways, leveraging credit and continuing education integration. This role is essential in fostering a structured, supportive academic environment that equips high school students with the skills, credentials, and opportunities needed to transition successfully into higher education and the workforce.
Essential Duties
- Collaborate with faculty convenors and academic leaders on guided pathways from high school to CCBC.
- Research and communicate innovations in guided pathways.
- Prepare, analyze, and provide reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent the College with students, parents, and professional organizations.
- Lead the academic affairs efforts to provide instructional support for the integration of guided pathways into dual enrollment and dual admissions.
- Collaborate with faculty conveners and program coordinators to align high school coursework with credit and workforce programs to create clear, structured career pathways that ensure effective transitions from high school into degree and workforce training programs.
- Provide students with experiences, resources, and support to ease their transition from high school to college, between continuing education and credit programs, and from college to the workforce.
- Partner with faculty, advisors, and student services to ensure seamless student transitions from high school to college and from education to career.
- Work with K-12 schools, industry partners, and workforce development agencies to align academic programming with labor market needs.
- Coordinate the delivery of professional development through the Institute for Transformational Teaching, Learning and Leadership that supports guided pathways.
- Utilize data analytics to track student progress within pathway programs, identifying areas for improvement.
- Ensure continuous assessment of pathway effectiveness, making data-driven recommendations for program enhancements.
- Manage the activities performed by Pathway Coordinators across the academic schools.
