Director, Partnerships - Industries
About The Team
The Director for Partnerships will report into the VP of Content Strategy and Partnerships for Dow Jones Industries and is responsible for managing partners in the assigned region. This primarily includes managing the distribution partnerships and selectively pursuing new partnerships for Dow Jones Newswires and Factiva. The role also involves managing several channel relationships where Dow Jones content is distributed through a third party to enable direct sales revenue, as well as technical partners whose capabilities Dow Jones utilizes and enables.
About The Role
To be successful, you will grow and retain business, ensuring the value proposition for Dow Jones Industries Solutions and its clients are clearly articulated and align with the Partner. Building long-term, mutually beneficial, profitable, and highly engaged partnerships will be a key requirement of this role.
Responsibilities
- Drive new revenue and meet retention and renewal goals with existing and new partners.
- Retain contracted revenue in the assigned set of partners, ensuring content, products, and services suitably address business needs on an ongoing basis.
- Guide prospective partners through Dow Jones’ process, ensuring internal alignment on terms, goals, and the nature of the partnership while establishing a mutually beneficial relationship.
- Manage forecasts and pipelines, ensuring clear and timely reporting.
- Oversee all aspects of the renewal process in a timely and process-driven manner, including data analysis and presenting a business case and recommendation to management.
- Maintain high levels of partner satisfaction through regular communication and strong relationships, ensuring loyalty through solution quality, relationship depth, and responsiveness.
- Maintain accurate and appropriate records within the CRM system, providing timely updates and information to management.
- Support and collaborate with Business, Marketing, and Product/Technical teams to onboard partners once agreements are signed or modified. Activities include communication plans, content testing and delivery, billing and invoicing, sales team training, and records management.
- Work closely with Legal, Finance, Business, and Technology teams to ensure technical feasibility, compliance with certification requirements, completion of NDAs, partner suitability evaluations, agreement negotiations, and implementation of demos/trials.
- Actively participate in the Dow Jones NYC office, fostering teamwork and cooperation.
Requirements
- Proven successful track record in a relationship management role supporting strategic solutions for major organizations.
- Firm experience in business development with a track record of winning.
- Strong results orientation to achieve retention and new business goals.
- Excellent relationship-building skills ensuring ongoing industry credibility.
- Ability to understand and demonstrate the value proposition for Dow Jones Industries products.
- Good planning skills and attention to detail to successfully manage renewals and develop long-term retention strategies.
- At least 15 years of proven experience in contract negotiations and internal/external relationship management (developed in sales, consulting, marketing, business development, or financial services).
- Strong relationship, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Superior organizational skills with a solution-oriented approach to problems and attention to detail.
- Strong presentation skills and ability to convey complex information using a communication style appropriate to the audience.
- Understanding of internet and intranet applications, emerging and web technologies, AI/Generative AI, and industry standards.
- Understanding of XML and news standards formats.
- Commercial awareness of the implications of potential contractual obligations.
- Proven experience in managing projects according to deadlines.
- Understanding of Dow Jones’ mission to provide world-class global news and business information and emerging market trends.

Pay
Base pay range: $145,000 - $175,000. Dow Jones offers competitive and flexible compensation to attract top talent. This range reflects a good faith estimate and may vary based on a candidate’s experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors. Bonus-eligible roles include targets determined by market benchmarks and individual contributions.
