Director, Operations & Strategy (Human Capital)
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Director, Operations & Strategy (Human Capital) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will help shape human capital strategy across investment and portfolio environments, with a focus on driving value creation through leadership, culture, and organizational effectiveness. The position partners closely with senior stakeholders to assess talent, design scalable people approaches, and support growth, transformation, and integration efforts. It is a hands-on, high-impact opportunity to influence decisions that improve business outcomes across new investments and operating companies.
Location: New York, NY - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Pay
Compensation: $230,000 – $330,000 annually
Responsibilities
- Partner with leadership teams to execute human capital initiatives that drive value creation
- Develop tailored human capital plans aligned with investment strategies
- Advise on organization design, leadership effectiveness, and culture
- Support portfolio companies during growth and transformation phases
- Create scalable playbooks and best practices for portfolio companies
- Lead human capital diligence for new investments, assessing management and culture
- Develop actionable human capital plans for new investments
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in human capital, talent, and organization effectiveness
- Experience with private equity-backed, founder-led, and high-growth companies
- Ability to advise senior leaders on leadership, talent, and culture topics
- Experience in M&A, post-merger integration, and carve-outs is valuable
- Proven track record of translating human capital insights into measurable outcomes
