Director - Operational Optimization
About the Role
This position is responsible for developing and leading the enterprise network optimization strategy across the company. The role involves identifying opportunities to leverage manufacturing and warehousing capabilities, optimizing network locations, and developing business cases for executive-level decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute network optimization strategy and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support cost reductions, asset utilization, and maximize internal value for ProAmpac’s internal and external customers.
- Maintain a pipeline of network optimization opportunities across all business groups.
- Develop processes to maintain visibility into manufacturing capacity, utilization, and constraints.
- Partner with operations and planning teams to align forecasts with available capacity and balance production loads.
- Provide input toward strategic capacity expansions, capital expenditures (capex), and new capabilities.
- Lead recurring portfolio reviews on network optimization opportunities, capacity utilization, and project statuses.
- Develop scorecards to track pipeline, project statuses, and savings realized.
- Work cross-functionally with supply chain, manufacturing, and leadership to align on network opportunities and execution.
- Identify and utilize simulation software for scenario planning ("what-if" models) for network changes.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Finance; MBA is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years’ progressive experience in the manufacturing industry.
- Strong financial and manufacturing background.
- In-depth knowledge of end-to-end supply chain and P&L statements.
- Solid analytical skills and ability to translate data into fact-based decision-making.
- Effective in data gathering, able to work in an unstructured environment, and strong communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to set clear priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High emotional intelligence and conflict resolution skills; ability to maintain relationships via flexibility, collaboration, and negotiation.
- Ability to build strong working relationships across departments, geographic locations, and time zones.
- Demonstrated success in driving organizational change, consensus-building, and influencing all levels of an organization.
- Excellent English language fluency; additional language capabilities are a strong plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Visio, and Outlook.

Work Environment
Work primarily in a climate-controlled indoor office environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Some exposure to a manufacturing environment may occur, including non-toxic/nuisance smells from chemicals, airborne dust, moving mechanical parts, high noise levels, and hot/humid conditions during summer months. Required safety gear includes hearing protection, safety shoes, and vision protection.
Expected travel up to 25% in a typical month, including car and air travel with occasional overnight stays.
