Director Operational Excellence

About the role

As an Aerospace Operating System (AOS) Site Leader at Honeywell Aerospace, you will be a critical leader in the development and site-wide deployment of the Aerospace Operating System (AOS), driving the transformation of operational performance across the site or multiple sites. You will partner closely with the Site Leader and AOS Global Operations Leader to establish the AOS roadmap, align strategic priorities, and enable scalable implementation across functions such as planning, materials, sourcing, and quality. As the key thought leader and change agent, you will coach leaders, drive method development and continuous improvement initiatives, and optimize end-to-end supply chain processes spanning procurement, planning, production, distribution, and logistics to support long-term growth, operational efficiency, and cultural transformation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates, prioritizes, and organizes improvement events and AOS courses to create value for the unit
• Manages or leads relevant, strategic, and operational business challenges
• Fosters a continuous improvement mindset with respective methods and tools
• Supports and/or orchestrates the Hoshin Kanri process for the site
• Supports and/or orchestrates productivity generation activities
• Coaches peers and key managers inside the unit on the promotion and use of AOS
• Acts as a thought leader for an Agile and Lean mindset
• Advances AOS through sharing of success stories and recognition of stakeholders
• Orchestrates, coaches, and leads AOS community and key enablers
• Drives, motivates, and manages AOS qualifications of employees
• Active member of the global, companywide AOS community
• Collaborates with the AOS office to execute the AOS strategy
• Leads and executes change management across the employee population

Requirements

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, the candidate must be a U.S. person, defined as a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

• At least 8 years of practical application of Lean Manufacturing and Operating Systems principles and tools
• At least 8 years of project management experience gained through both strategic and tactical change projects
• Experience influencing and communicating effectively with frontline employees, site leadership, and senior executives, including leading cross-functional initiatives and presenting business outcomes to leadership teams
• Ability to travel to other locations for training or project support (limited)

WE VALUE

• A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field (a Master of Business Administration is a plus)
• Experience in various areas of operations, such as production, planning, procurement, or logistics
• Successful track record in leading without formal authority
• Proven experience in driving results and coaching teams/peers across departments
• Experience in developing and sustaining networks/communities
• Leadership qualities and experience in motivating and developing diverse teams
• 8 years of practical experience facilitating improvement events
