About the role
Career Team is a leading workforce development organization on a mission to transform lives. We blend cutting-edge technology with compassionate, high-touch services to drive real, measurable outcomes in the lives of job seekers across the country. As the Director of Workforce Transformation, you'll partner directly with state leaders and local workforce boards to perform deep-dive "process autopsies" and architect a bigger, bolder vision for our customers to serve their community.
Responsibilities
- Partner directly with state leaders and local workforce boards to perform deep-dive "process autopsies"; dissecting current workflows to keep what works and remove what doesn’t.
- Lead investigative sessions to hunt down bottlenecks and outdated relics, ultimately architecting a bigger, bolder vision for our customers to serve their community.
- Use your workforce experience and expertise to see the big picture while also understanding the nuances and tiny details of the business.
- Turn high-level workforce directives into clear technical process flows inside Career Edge.
- Guide workforce boards to move past just using a new tool and help them master it to change lives.
Requirements
- A dynamic career journey combining a strong academic foundation (Bachelor's or higher) with over 5 years of experience in workforce development.
- Your background spans workforce services at multiple levels—ideally across boards, regions, or states—giving you a ground-up understanding of service delivery.
- You have experience collaborating with state and local workforce boards, managing regional differences, and navigating complex, locally-specific requirements.
- You are fluent in both 'workforce' and 'technology,' possessing deep, 5+ years of specific knowledge in WIOA, TANF, SNAP, and other workforce-related contracts/programs.
- You are confident in challenging assumptions and translating technology capabilities into practical, jargon-free solutions that actually work for customers.
- You have the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives and adjust your altitude, seamlessly transitioning from discussions with state-level leaders to supporting frontline staff.
- You are a meticulous, critical thinker comfortable in the unscripted 'messy middle' of transformations, bringing strong opinions held lightly and the speed, research skills, and accuracy needed to excel under pressure.
- You have confidentiality, sensitivity, and tact as paramount, paired with exceptional time-management, organization, verbal and written communication.
