About the Role
Provides direct patient care, managerial, and administrative duties in assigned acute care departments. Communicates with physicians, nurses, and other staff about patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies, and symptomatology. Responds quickly and accurately to changes in conditions or response to treatment. Supervises and coordinates day-to-day staff operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in acute care departments
- Perform managerial and administrative duties
- Communicate with physicians, nurses, and staff about patient clinical conditions, diagnostic results, and symptomatology
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient conditions or treatment responses
- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day staff operations
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred)
- Minimum of five years progressively responsible nursing experience in a hospital acute care setting
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Current Texas RN license or RN Compact licensure
- Current CPR certification
- ACLS Certification required within one year for all departments
- OB-NRP required within one year for OB departments
- Knowledge of accreditation process
- Knowledge of National Patient Safety Goals
