About the role

The Director at 1898 & Co. is responsible for managing and providing expertise to a team of consultants and analysts. They oversee consulting projects, manage client relations, and ensure project quality, schedule, cost control, and contract adherence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage consulting projects, including pursuit, negotiation, execution, cost, schedule, and quality of deliverables.
  • Facilitate workshops with senior-level client teams to understand requirements, uncover needs, and develop action plans.
  • Leverage strategic thinking to anticipate and solve client problems.
  • Liaise with clients and internal/external subject matter experts for project-related communications and delivery.
  • Compile, distribute, and present status reports to stakeholders.
  • Establish project teams, coordinate activities, and utilize staff efficiently.
  • Develop and contribute to training materials for consultants and analysts.
  • Manage third-party vendors and subcontractors, including contracts, scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Provide performance feedback to personnel managers.
  • Identify and pursue upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Ensure timely processing of invoices in alignment with agreements.
  • Provide managerial direction and work assignments to consultants and analysts.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field from an accredited program with 13+ years of relevant consulting experience, or Master's degree, MBA preferred.
  • Excellent business acumen with proven success in managing consulting engagements.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large data sets.
  • Ability to uncover customer needs, develop recommendations, and communicate persuasively.
  • Expert facilitation, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts.
  • Excellent planning and analytical skills.
  • Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
