Director of Transportation - PlayCore

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Promotes the Company's mission and values-based culture through all forms of communication and interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and subject matter expertise to transportation professionals across PlayCore businesses to support transportation excellence, cost optimization, and service improvements.
• Interact with site level peers from Manufacturing, Purchasing, Legal, and Finance in the development of PlayCore’s transportation strategies and best practices which support the changing needs of the individual businesses.
• Develop and facilitate regular metrics reporting structure and cadence with meaningful and measurable actions to drive improvements to cost and the overall customer experience.
• Own and manage all decisions regarding current and potential third-party vendors of transportation software, TMS and other transportation services.
• Optimize international inbound freight solutions and pursue common approaches to international freight for applicable businesses.
• Integrate acquired companies for cost savings and network optimization.
• Key contributor to annual business planning, expense, and budgeting processes.
• Monitor progress monthly and revise accordingly to support corporate financial and customer service requirements and guidelines.

Education And/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Logistics, Transportation or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a Transportation / Freight management capacity.
• Previous management experience.

Travel

• Travel 30% - typically restricted to North America.
• Travel will be heavy during onboarding period.
