Director of the Physician Assistant Program
Job Summary
The College of Nursing and Public Health at Adelphi University invites applications for the position of Inaugural Director for the Physician Assistant Program. This is an open rank faculty position based in Adelphi's new Manhattan Center.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Be responsible for creation, development, accreditation, operationalization, and management of a new PA program at Adelphi University and envision what distinguishes the program in the NYC market.
- Lead and be responsible for development of all ARC-PA required accreditation candidacy documents, and oversight of all ongoing accreditation assessment and compliance.
- Oversee the design, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the curriculum.
- Affiliate with clinical sites and physician preceptors to provide high-quality clinical rotation experiences for students.
- Manage the program's budget and ensure appropriate resources are available to support its operations.
- Assist with hiring, orientation, supervision, and evaluation of faculty and staff involved with the program, demonstrating responsiveness to issues related to personnel.
- Participate in evaluation of student performance and academic counseling of students.
- Demonstrate evidence of teaching and curriculum expertise, faculty development and mentorship competencies, as well as enthusiasm for inter-professional collaboration.
Qualifications
- Licensure as a Physician Assistant in NY State with a minimum of five (5) years of recent clinical experience practicing as a PA.
- Relevant doctoral degree is preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in academic administration, health professions teaching, and faculty development.
- Knowledge of and experience with healthcare regulations, standards, and the accreditation process for PA programs.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

Pay Information
In compliance with New York's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $175,000. Adelphi University considers factors such as departmental budgets, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
