About the role

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of Siegfried Advisory, the Director of Tax Advisory Services is responsible for the leadership, management, and growth of Siegfried Advisory’s Tax Advisory Services (TAS) practice. This role is fundamentally rooted in exceptional client service, championing a high-touch, relationship-driven model that delivers superior client outcomes and reinforces the firm’s reputation for excellence.

The Director serves as a trusted advisor to entrepreneurs, executives, family offices, and closely held businesses—delivering integrated tax planning, compliance, and wealth strategies. This individual will lead the practice with a focus on developing talent, driving operational excellence, and strengthening long-term client relationships while positioning the practice for future growth and scalability. This high-impact leadership role is ideally based in Philadelphia, PA, with consideration for New York Metro- or Wilmington, DE-based candidates. For candidates not based in Philadelphia, travel to the Philadelphia market at least once a week is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Bring a solid foundation in technical tax, with experience serving the unique needs of entrepreneurs, high-growth organizations, and large enterprises.
  • Lead the TAS practice with a client-first mindset, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality, responsive, and proactive service.
  • Serve as a senior advisor to key clients, building deep, trusted relationships and delivering tailored, forward-looking tax strategies.
  • Own end-to-end client service delivery, ensuring excellence in accuracy, timeliness, and overall experience.
  • Lead complex tax advisory engagements, including direct client service delivery where appropriate.
  • Ensure strong technical execution while continuously elevating the team’s service approach and delivery model.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team with a focus on professional maturity, accountability, and growth.
  • Provide technical tax mentorship and coaching to team members, develop future leaders, and elevate overall team capability.
  • Establish clear expectations and drive consistent execution of processes and standards.
  • Foster a culture aligned with Siegfried’s values, emphasizing collaboration, humility, and continuous improvement.
  • Support business development efforts, including expanding existing relationships and identifying new opportunities.
  • Partner with leadership to evolve the TAS practice and position it for long-term scalability.
  • Contribute to go-to-market initiatives over time, with increasing ownership as the practice stabilizes and grows.
  • Own engagement and portfolio performance, including realization, utilization, pricing, and profitability.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and expand client value.
  • Collaborate with leadership on pricing strategy and engagement structuring.
  • Serve as a member of the Siegfried Advisory Leadership Team.
  • Collaborate with leadership on forecasting, capacity planning, and resource alignment.
  • Ensure adherence to firm standards, including quality control, risk management, and compliance.
  • Leverage tools and technology to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive tax experience, with flexibility to consider candidates with slightly less or more experience based on capability, potential, and demonstrated maturity.
  • Strong track record of delivering high-quality client service in a professional services environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage processes, and develop talent effectively.
  • Deep technical expertise across key tax areas, including partnerships, trusts, estates, and closely held business structures.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to advise senior executives and business owners.
  • Proven ability to operate with sound judgment, professionalism, and accountability.
  • High level of professional maturity and judgment.
  • Ability to balance leadership, execution, and relationship management.
  • Resilience to operate in an ambiguous, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, align teams, and drive results.

  • Approximately 20% travel as needed.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as required.
  • Ability and willingness to work in an SA office for an average of four days per week (or more) in accordance with SA's then-current policy. For candidates not based in Philadelphia, this includes travel to the Philadelphia market at least once a week.
