Director of Survey
What You’ll Do
- Lead and support multiple surveying teams through Team Leaders and Senior Team Leaders
- Balance operational leadership with strategic growth, sales, and client development
- Oversee financial performance, staffing, scheduling, quality control, and workshare across survey teams
- Provide technical leadership in surveying, ensuring adherence to QA/QC standards and best practices
- Drive regional and local growth initiatives within land surveying, geomatics, and related services
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on complex and high-profile surveying projects
- Mentor and develop senior survey staff, supporting performance, career growth, and retention
- Collaborate closely with operations managers, practice leaders, and HR on staffing, hiring, and resource planning
What You Will Need
- Bachelor’s degree or associate's degree
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in land surveying or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience as a Licensed RPLS in the Survey field
- Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) in Texas and ability to obtain other states
- Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams on large, complex projects
- Strong understanding of survey operations, project financials, and resource management
- Demonstrated success in business development, client management, and regional pursuits
- Ability to align technical excellence with strategic and operational objectives
