Primary Purpose of Position

The Honors College at North Carolina A&T State University invites applications for the position of Director of Student Programming. Reporting directly to the Dean of the Honors College, the Director of Student Programming will play a pivotal role in fostering the comprehensive development and success of high-achieving students at all levels within the Honors community. This position involves designing, executing, and evaluating an array of student programs aimed at enhancing the academic, personal, and professional growth of Honors students.

Responsibilities

  • Developing innovative co-curricular initiatives
  • Providing tailored advising and mentorship
  • Fostering student engagement through strategic outreach and partnerships
  • Coordinating signature Honors College initiatives and events
  • Ensuring continuous improvement and alignment of programs with the Honors College mission and goals through ongoing assessment of student engagement initiatives
  • Collaborating closely with the Honors College leadership team to advance strategic objectives and create a supportive and inclusive environment where NCAT Honors students can thrive academically and beyond

Minimum Requirements

  • Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Counseling, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in student affairs, academic advising, or related field, preferably in a college or university setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in student program development, leadership development, and student success initiatives
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, and community partners
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information in a clear and engaging manner
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience with program assessment and evaluation, including the ability to collect and analyze data to inform decision-making and continuous improvement efforts
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in honors student engagement
  • Demonstrated knowledge of student leadership development initiatives and experience working with student leaders

Work Arrangement: On-site (Employees are primarily in the office and/or have a critical job requirement that requires dedicated office space on-site)

Appointment: Permanent - Full-time, 40 hours/week, 12 months

Recruitment Salary Range: Commensurate with education and experience
