About the role
The Director of Strategic Partnerships will serve as the trusted anchor of every family's experience at Alpha. They will sustain their confidence through challenging moments, cultivate a community where belonging feels intentional, and establish the environment in which satisfied families become active advocates.
Responsibilities
- Own the connection with every family at the campus—the evolving, deepening bond that ensures parents feel recognized, not merely attended to
- Identify concerns before they escalate, and address them with the discretion and interpersonal skill that preserves confidence
- Maintain visible availability where families gather: morning arrival (7–9am), afternoon departure (2–4pm), evening parent functions, and select weekend engagements
- Create a campus community with authentic depth—traditions, events, and moments that foster a sense of meaningful belonging
- Develop parent champions naturally, delivering experiences so reliably strong that referrals arise as a matter of course
- Sustain the ongoing dialogue about Alpha's AI-driven approach with families weighing screen time considerations, skeptical relatives, and periodic uncertainty—not only during enrollment, but continuously throughout their campus tenure
- Recognize when a family is not aligned and manage that transition with the same care you apply elsewhere—safeguarding the community is integral to supporting it
- Establish the frameworks and routines this position demands in a setting where the blueprint is still emerging
Requirements
- Currently live within commuting range of one of these campuses OR prepared to relocate within 60 days (preference for candidates with established local connections)
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- 5+ years in a relationship-focused role serving high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth families—private school admissions, luxury hospitality, philanthropy, or any context where discretion, warmth, and interpersonal fluency were as critical as competence
- Proven capacity to maintain relationships through challenging moments with sophisticated families and preserve trust throughout
- Authentic presence and communication style that builds confidence rapidly with affluent, high-expectation families—polished but not rehearsed
- Personal experience with independent, private, or non-traditional education—either professionally or as a parent—that provides credible perspective when families question the model
- Sincere conviction in AI-powered education and the capacity to sustain that belief authentically across years of family engagement, not solely at the point of enrollment
- Willingness to work flexible hours: early mornings (7–9am), late afternoons (2–4pm), evening events 2–3x/month, and occasional weekend activities
Nice-to-have Requirements
- Established connections within the local affluent community that would provide an immediate, organic presence on campus
- Private school or independent school background with demonstrated family retention and community engagement—beyond enrollment metrics
- Experience managing high-stakes family dynamics where your judgment and discretion were the reason confidence endured
- A talent for designing experiences—events, gatherings, environments—that make people feel part of something worth safeguarding
- Prior startup or early-stage experience where you built systems from the ground up and remained composed amid rapid change
