Director of Software Engineering, Platform Services

For our client, we are seeking a Director of Software Engineering, Platform Services to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This leader will shape the strategy for shared engineering platforms that help development teams move faster, build more consistently, and operate with greater reliability. The role will focus on internal developer experience, production services, and AI-assisted development practices that scale across the organization. In partnership with senior technology leaders and engineering teams, this person will drive frameworks, tooling, and operational discipline that improve delivery and service performance. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $208,761 – $306,182 annually Responsibilities Provide strategy and leadership for the Platform Services organization Lead the development of integrated platform services for engineering teams Define the approach to AI-assisted and specification-driven development Deliver templates and frameworks for engineering teams Own development environments and tooling for engineers Ensure availability and performance of shared services Create a seamless experience for developers to deliver value Qualifications BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field; MBA preferred 10+ years in technical roles within development or enterprise services 5+ years in supervisory or team lead positions Proven track record in delivering internal developer tooling and shared services Experience with AI-assisted software development at scale History of managing production services and incident response Strong communication skills with C-Level leaders Benefits 401(K) match Adoption assistance Parental leave Tuition reimbursement Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage Unique nonstandard benefits that enhance workplace culture Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
