About the role
C+C Apartment Management LLC is an industry leader in management and real estate operations, overseeing over 23,000 residential dwelling units across approximately 400 multi-family buildings in the New York Tri-state area. The portfolio includes market rate, mixed market rate, affordable, and full tax credit/affordable properties. The Social Programming Director will oversee all social services support and programming for residents at Edenwald, serving as the bridge connecting residents, on-site property management, case management services, and community programs.
Responsibilities
- Assist the nonprofit provider in developing and implementing the resident needs assessment.
- Identify and document services provided by nonprofits in and around Edenwald Houses, maintaining an up-to-date list of services and providers.
- Serve as a liaison to community agencies, network with providers, and seek new (fee and no-cost) services for clients.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with nonprofit service providers, developing a referral system, including potential MOUs for resident referrals.
- Identify resident needs, determine suitable programs, identify local service providers, and develop and award grants to deliver services to Edenwald residents.
- Collaborate with the third-party Development team and C+C/L+M departments (Community Investment, Social Services, Community Affairs) to create a social service plan with budget and performance metrics.
- Compile and report on metrics of programs and services provided.
- Develop and maintain a Resource Directory listing state and/or local service providers for resident assistance.
- Consult and collaborate with tenant associations to identify resident needs, advocacy efforts, and develop educational and wellness programs.
- Report to the Director of Social Services with indirect supervision from the Community Investment Manager and Edenwald General Manager.
- Undertake direct resident services as detailed in the Social Service Coordinator position responsibilities.
- Coordinate and communicate with NYCHA Community Development and Real Estate.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field (preferred).
- Master's degree in business administration, social work, or related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of industry experience.
- 5+ years in a leadership role within social services (preferred).
Skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience working with a supportive tenant base.
- Proven experience in program management within a residential tenant environment.
- Strong management skills and prior experience managing a team.
- Understanding of project management.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to proactively anticipate and solve problems.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Competencies / Essential Job Functions
