About the role
The Director of Security Technology oversees the overall management of the Security Department at Intuit Dome, integrating new technology into a seamless safer experience for fans and team members. This role requires a bachelor's degree in criminal justice or a related field, seven years of direct industry experience, and supervisory and management experience with an event-based workforce.
Responsibilities
- Manage Building Security Manager and Building Security Coordinator to plan, develop, and implement programs supporting strategic goals while maintaining the highest industry standards for safety and security.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, development, and scheduling of 24/7 Building Security operations, ensuring a high-performing team and implementing programs that uphold industry standards and ensure the safety and security of all fans, team members, performers, and stakeholders.
- Develop and manage Building Security budget, staffing deployment, and oversight of all full-time and part-time Building Security Supervisors, Leads, and Officers.
- Oversee operations of critical systems including state-of-the-art CCTV, access control, incident management systems, radio communications, and select building management systems within the Command Center and Loading Dock.
- Direct research, installation, maintenance, system hygiene, and repair of all physical security systems, including access control, CCTV, security screening equipment, visitor management, and X-ray systems.
- Approve and oversee work performed by internal technicians and vendor-provided personnel assigned to security systems projects.
- Maintain the integrity of the key control system, ensuring accurate issuance, tracking, and compliance among all authorized key holders.
- Provide effective direction to team members during emergency response situations; update and maintain facility Emergency Operating Plans with regular reviews, updates, and exercises.
- Collaborate with management and public safety officials to develop training programs, employee safety presentations, practical exercises, and tabletop exercises to ensure operating procedures are effectively communicated to internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee incident investigations in response to all Building Security incidents at Intuit Dome and Kia Forum during 24/7 operations, including management of all reports within 24/7 Software.
- Establish and maintain relationships with local, city, state, and federal security organizations to ensure effective communication, coordination, compliance, and support for investigations related to security incidents.
- Manage the global Halo Sports & Entertainment credentialing system, providing customized and restricted access rights to employees, business partners, and vendors performing work at Intuit Dome and/or Kia Forum.
- Serve as an active member of all Intuit Dome and Kia Forum operational meetings to prepare for and review events, coordinate across event operations departments, obtain accurate attendance projections, and communicate relevant information to Building Security partners during briefings and after-action reviews.
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field (advance degree preferred).
- Seven years direct industry experience in security-related field.
- Supervisory and management experience with an event-based workforce.
- Possess a detailed knowledge of sports & entertainment venue event planning and related activities.
- Experience with governmental resources, including police and fire departments, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, FBI and other local, state and federal resources.
- Excellent organizational, project management, and time management skills.
- Thorough knowledge of physical security systems, including 24/7 Software, CCTV, Envoy, fire alarm, Genetec, Liferaft, and Motorola radio communication systems and/or other comparable systems.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in crisis management, investigation skills, security technology, life safety, risk management, payroll, and scheduling are required.
- Experience with budgeting and creating event staffing estimates.
- Able to adapt to change and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
- Knowledge of relevant legal and compliance regulations.
- Demonstrated dedication with the ability to lead projects from origin through execution.
