About the Role
The Director of Sales is responsible for hiring, managing, and mentoring a team of sales representatives (Account Executives) and their first line leaders (Regional Sales Managers) to meet and exceed their revenue goals. Account Executives are responsible for maintaining high activity standards; daily prospecting, pipeline growth, prospect qualification, and delivering on assigned quarterly sales revenue targets.
Responsibilities
- Own the New York City office & the Northeast, its culture, and the path past $50M in annual revenue within two fiscal years, along with the forecast accuracy behind it.
- Lead and develop a team of 5+ Regional Sales Managers (front line) and 40+ Account Executives.
- Grow the organization without lowering the bar, building the leadership bench ahead of the headcount, not behind it.
- Run the operating cadence: weekly forecast calls, pipeline and deal inspection, monthly business reviews, quarterly territory and capacity planning.
- Coach Regional Sales Managers on talent decisions, performance management, capacity planning, and their own succession.
- Partner with Channel, Recruiting, Sales Enablement, Marketing, Sales Ops, and Product to unblock the region and feed field learnings back into the product.
- Give executive leadership a clear, unvarnished read on the business: what's working, what isn't, and what you need.
Requirements
- 10+ years in B2B sales with 4+ years as a second-line leader
- Track record of building sales organizations that beat their number, and of hiring and developing the leaders who did it
- Experience scaling a team through a step change in headcount, not just running one at steady state
- Deep command of forecasting, pipeline management, capacity planning, and territory design
- Comfort operating in a high-growth environment
- Exceptional sales/leader coaching and executive communication skills
- Ability to influence cross-functionally without authority (Channel, Marketing, and Product)
- Willingness to travel ~30% to customers, channel partners, and events
- Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Must be independently authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available for this role)
Benefits
- Healthcare programs tailored to personal health and financial well-being — premiums 100% covered for the employee under at least one plan and 80% for family premiums under all plans
- Nationwide medical, vision, and dental coverage
- Health Savings Account (HSA) with annual employer contributions and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) with tax-saving options
- Expanded mental health support
- Paid parental leave policy and fertility benefits
- Time off via paid holidays, firmwide extended holidays, flexible PTO, and personal sick time
- Professional development stipend
- Wellness/fitness benefits
- Healthy lunches provided daily
- Commuter benefits
