About the role
The Director of Safety oversees all safety initiatives within the organization, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This includes developing and implementing safety policies, conducting regular safety audits, and training employees on safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies and procedures
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments
- Train employees on safety protocols and emergency response plans
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure safety measures are integrated into daily operations
- Oversee incident investigations and develop corrective action plans
- Stay updated with industry trends and regulatory changes affecting workplace safety
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in safety management roles
- Proven track record of successfully managing safety programs and initiatives
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
- Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and engage employees
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Experience in leading safety teams and managing budgets
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and its application
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Skills
- Strong knowledge of safety management principles and practices
- Proficiency in using safety management software and tools
- Excellent organizational and time management skills

Pay
Salary range: $80,000 - $120,000 per year
