Director of Risk

Position Overview

Our client, a proprietary technology trading firm, is searching for a Head of Market Risk to lead its global risk function. Based in South Florida with flexible remote and hybrid options, this role serves as the firm's senior authority on exposure management, hedging strategy, liquidity optimization, and risk analytics. You'll own market risk across FX, futures, cryptocurrencies, and equities in a leveraged retail trading environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor firm-wide exposures in real time
• Design dynamic hedging strategies
• Make internalization-versus-externalization calls
• Build stress testing and scenario frameworks to manage tail risk
• Partner with engineering and product teams to design institutional-grade risk systems
• Create real-time dashboards, exposure engines, automated controls, and alerting infrastructure
• Lead and grow a team of six across market risk, exposure management, and liquidity operations

Requirements

• 10+ years in market risk from an electronic brokerage, prime broker, FCM, exchange, market maker, or prop trading firm
• Direct experience managing risk for leveraged retail trading businesses
• Deep knowledge of market microstructure, hedging programs at scale, and real-time risk technology
• Python, SQL, or R skills are a strong plus
