Director of Respiratory Therapy

About the Role
Plans, directs, and coordinates the daily operations of respiratory function and develops standards/criteria of care in compliance with regulatory agencies at Methodist Hospital Hill Country, part of HCA Healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and maintains annual operating and capital budgets; monitors monthly department operations reports and makes adjustments to meet fiscal goals.
- Assures personnel and students are appropriately oriented, trained, and supervised to enhance efficiency and ensure quality patient care.
- Provides in-service training to enhance staff proficiency in delivering skilled patient services.
- Ensures daily readiness of staff and department modalities for patients, JCAHO, and other regulatory agencies.
- Develops and implements organizational policies and procedures for the department.
- Develops, implements, and monitors the Respiratory Therapy Department’s quality improvement program.
- Monitors and evaluates the use of services, facilities, and staff to ensure effective resource utilization; communicates cost-impact recommendations regarding space, equipment, supplies, and staffing levels.
- Coordinates respiratory care activities between Medical Directors, MHS facilities, and administrative functions.
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree or five years of management experience.
- Five years of clinical experience required.
- Experience managing multiple facilities is desirable.
Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required.
- Texas Medical Board Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
