Duties and Responsibilities
- Leadership and management of operations
- Comprehensive residential living-learning curriculum
- Strategic vision to monitor and increase retention and growth
- Supervise the professional and paraprofessional staff of the residence life and housing office
- Organize ongoing professional development and in-service training for all residence life staff members
- Recruit, train, and supervise I Assistant Director and 3 Area Coordinators
- Supervise the selection and training of all resident assistants and desk staff
- Supervise the management of all on-campus residences including graduate student housing and special housing arrangements needed during breaks, holidays, and early arrivals
- Manage the daily operations of the student conduct process, ensuring consistency and equity
- Adjudicate student conduct cases, refer cases as needed, and coordinate and consult with Dean of Students regarding high level conduct cases or ongoing situations of concern
- Provide training to residence life professional staff and other community members who may participate in a student conduct panel
- Coordinate emergency response for mental health crisis, medical emergency, COVID-19 isolation cases, and student death according to university protocol
Requirements
- Master's degree in Social Sciences or related field
- 2.5 years of related experience
- Experience analyzing and updating policies, procedures, forms and manuals for student staff and professional staff of residence life and housing
- Experience conducting qualitative data collection and analysis for a grant-based research project
- Experience interpreting and enforcing the Student Code of Conduct, facilitating student conduct meetings using a restorative and educational approach
- Experience designing and delivering training presentations addressing educational topics, including conflict management, crisis intervention, student conduct, and diversity education
- Coordination of emergency response for mental health crisis, medical emergency, COVID-19 isolation cases, and student death according to university protocol
- Must live in university housing. Remote work allowed up to 20% of time
Pay
Salary range: $85,883 to $89,883
