Role Description The Director of Rehabilitation is a full-time, on-site role based in Silver Spring, MD, responsible for overseeing all rehabilitation services within the community. This role manages daily operations of occupational, physical, and speech therapy programs, ensuring high-quality, resident-centered care and compliance with regulatory and clinical standards. The Director will supervise and mentor rehabilitation staff, coordinate interdisciplinary care plans, and monitor therapy outcomes to support resident progress and satisfaction. Additional responsibilities include scheduling and staffing, documentation oversight, performance improvement initiatives, collaboration with nursing and medical teams, and communication with residents, families, and external providers. The Director of Rehabilitation will also support strategic planning for rehab services, contribute to budgeting and resource allocation, and promote best practices in post-acute and long-term care. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation, with the ability to lead and coordinate comprehensive rehab programs.Strong background in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, including experience with post-acute and long-term care populations.Proficiency in Speech Therapy and Rehabilitation, with skills in communication and swallowing interventions as part of interdisciplinary care.Solid understanding of Medicine as it relates to rehabilitation, including collaboration with physicians and nursing teams on clinical care plans.Current professional licensure in a therapy discipline (OT, PT, or SLP) in Maryland, or eligibility to obtain licensure.Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a rehab or skilled nursing setting preferred.Knowledge of regulatory requirements, documentation standards, and reimbursement guidelines for rehabilitation services.Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.Commitment to person-centered care, cultural competence, and ethical practice in a diverse resident community.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant therapy field; advanced credentials or certifications in rehabilitation management are a plus.
