Duties

  • Develop and implement facility management policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient operations.
  • Evaluate, select, and manage contracts and relationships with vendors, and contractors.
  • Oversee landlord and tenant relations (both where YWCA GLA is the landlord or tenant).
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including ADA, OSHA, fire safety codes, and environmental standards.
  • Carry out regular inspections, safety audits and risk assessments to mitigate hazards.
  • Develop and implement emergency response protocols for facility-related incidents.
  • Oversee security protocols for the facilities, including cameras, locked gates, etc. working with onsite program management.
  • Implement and manage a preventive maintenance schedule for building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical).
  • Oversee new and existing leases (both where YWCA GLA is the landlord or tenant), working with real estate professionals and legal counsel where appropriate, to negotiate leases and related matters.
  • Prepare and manage the annual facilities budget, including operating costs, capital expenses, and utilities.
  • Collaborate with Program and Finance teams to ensure compliance with grant requirements and funding regulations.
  • Plan and execute capital improvement projects, including renovations, expansions, and new construction.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure projects meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Lead, develop and support the facilities staff and contractors, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum five years’ progressive experience in facilities management with proven knowledge of facilities infrastructure, equipment, electrical and mechanical systems, and basic code requirements.
  • Minimum two years’ experience managing a team of people and communicating with senior management.
  • Must have strong familiarization with CAL/OSHA state and federal workplace laws and regulations for office and preferably, within children’s play and learning environments.
  • Demonstrable experience monitoring and documenting regular compliance with OSHA/Cal-OSHA and IIPPs.
  • Non-profit experience is desirable.

$98,595-$131,460/yr. This is not a remote position.
