About the role
The Director of Quality & Safety Assurance oversees quality assurance, quality control, and environmental health and safety activities for aircraft completions, maintenance, and modification operations. This role ensures compliance with 14 CFR Part 145 repair station requirements and the AS9100 Quality Management System.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of records through internal system audits and compliance reviews.
- Develop, measure, and evaluate corporate quality policies and procedures, recommending improvements.
- Maintain records of applicable aviation regulations, specifications, type certificate data sheets, and airworthiness directives.
- Maintain and oversee the AS9100 Quality Management System, including audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and manage safety initiatives and programs to prevent workplace injuries and improve operational processes.
- Identify operational hazards and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Maintain repair station documentation, including the Repair Station Manual (RSM), Quality Control Manual (QCM), Capabilities List, and Personnel Roster.
- Ensure proper conduct and documentation of inspections.
- Analyze accidents, incidents, and exposure data to develop corrective actions.
- Maintain a technical publications library and ensure accessibility of current technical information.
- Support maintenance and repair operations by establishing maintenance policies, inspection procedures, and overhaul guidance.
- Establish safety performance targets and accident prevention strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in aviation maintenance, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in aircraft maintenance or completions, including leadership experience in quality assurance, inspections, repairs, and regulatory compliance.
- Advanced knowledge of Part 145 repair station operations and regulatory requirements.
- Advanced understanding of AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
- Advanced understanding of FAA and EASA mandated Safety Management System.
- Demonstrated experience governing technical data and documentation across engineering and production environments.
- Experience implementing enterprise-wide quality and compliance programs.
- Certification in risk management, safety management, or occupational health and safety.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License preferred.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in quality management preferred.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and aviation maintenance management systems.
