About the role

The Director of Quality and Clinical Excellence provides strategic and operational leadership for enterprise quality improvement, patient safety, regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness, clinical education, and workforce development across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, develop, recommend, implement, and monitor clinical policies, procedures, standards, and educational programs that promote the delivery of safe, high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care.
  • Partner with clinicians to improve quality, patient safety, patient experience, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead performance improvement initiatives utilizing evidence-based quality improvement methodologies.
  • Facilitate root cause analyses, corrective action planning, and sustain performance improvement following quality or safety events.
  • Lead the development of and oversee clinical team member training related to clinical workflows, policies, and evidence-based protocols.
  • Serve as the senior clinical resource for operational leaders and providers regarding clinical practice standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a culture of clinical excellence, accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning while serving as a role model for the organization’s Winning Team Mindset through leadership, teamwork, and a commitment to shared success.
  • Recommend operational improvements that enhance patient care delivery, clinical efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
  • Carry out necessary policies and procedures to address provider and patient needs, education, goals, and standards of performance.
  • Participate in strategic planning initiatives supporting organizational growth, value-based care, quality improvement, and workforce development.
  • Provide enterprise-wide leadership and administration of the Learning Management System (LMS), managing all clinical tracks, core competencies, certifications (ACLS/BLS/PALS), CEUs, and clinical compliance tracking.
  • Direct regulatory compliance, accreditation standards, the Corporate Compliance Plan, and the Medical Records Department through direct leadership of the Manager of Compliance and Accreditation.
  • Coordinate ongoing education and in-service programs.

Qualifications

  • Licensed as Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.
  • BSN or enrollment in BSN program preferred.
  • Master's Degree a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of progressive clinical management and healthcare leadership experience, including oversight of nursing education, ambulatory care operations, and regulatory compliance.
